Getting Checkout Traffic but Still 0 Sales – Desperately Need Insight

Hi everyone,

I’m having a really tough time figuring out what’s wrong with my Shopify store funnel.

I’m currently running TikTok ads that are driving solid traffic (with good click-through rates), and I’m using a professional landing page generator. Everything from the creatives to the pricing is dialed in — I’m pricing the products even lower than competitors since I’m just trying to test and get one successful sale.

I’m using AutoDS, and the products I chose all have high sales volume according to their data.

A few days ago, I wasn’t seeing anyone reach the checkout screen — so I changed the “Add to Cart” button to route directly to checkout. Since then, I’ve started getting checkout traffic (verified in analytics), but still not a single purchase.

I thought it might be a payment issue, but I successfully placed test orders using PayPal and credit card and both worked fine.

So now I’m stuck — I have solid traffic, real checkout visits, working payments, competitive pricing — but zero conversions.

Any ideas what could be going wrong? Would love honest feedback or any technical suggestions.

Thanks in advance

This is my product with the most impressions:

NOTE: the 2 sales were my tests and about 20 of the ‘reached checkouts’ and ‘added to carts’ were me testing. There were 0 ‘reached checkout’ before my rerouting of ‘add to cart’ button

Landing page:

Hey there pal @RBuss01 I just had a look at your store and it’s pretty well set up tbh. A few things I’d suggest that you add are-

  1. You should add some categories on the homepage that could spark interest and further curiosity from customers when they land on the page. Categories like best sellers and new arrivals.

  2. You should add some FAQs. You should view this as an opportunity to provide information or details that could help separate your store from the crowd.

  3. You should consider adding some bundles and discounts for the products you have available. This can help boost conversion rates if done properly.

Hi @RBuss01

Here are some things that I suggest to check and revise:

  • Missing hero section value proposition → No clear statement of what makes Tech Stacking unique.

  • Lack of product categorization → Products appear without logical grouping.

  • Limited brand storytelling → No “About Us” information or brand mission. Add a brief “Our Story” section to create a concise brand narrative explaining the mission behind Tech Stacking. Implement a “Why Choose Us” section to highlight 3-4 key brand differentiators.

  • Minimal product descriptions → Product titles are long but lack benefit-focused descriptions. Add a headline like “Innovative Tech Gadgets That Make Life Easier” with a supporting subheading. This can increase visitor engagement by 30-40%. Rewrite product descriptions to focus on benefits → Transform “4K Resolution” into “Crystal Clear Images That Bring Movies to Life.” This can increase product appeal by 20-30%.

  • Generic primary CTA → “Shop all” doesn’t create urgency or communicate value. Use “Discover Smart Tech Solutions” or “Find Your Next Gadget.” This can increase click-through rates by 20-30%. Add clear CTAs to product cards → Implement “View Details” or “Add to Cart” buttons on each product. This can increase product page visits by 25-35%.

Congratulations on your new store! I can see it is well-designed and has quite enough of essential details. However, there are still some improvements needed if you want to improve conversion rates. Please check my recommendations below!

1. Add a favicon

A favicon is a small icon in the browser’s address bar and tabs. While it may seem minor, it can help boost perceived trustworthiness, which can lead to higher conversion rates.

2. Optimize the hero section

A hero section with an appealing image or video, headline, and subheading can highlight your USP or special promotions. They act like a shop window display encouraging visitors to click and explore further.

Don’t forget to to add a clear CTA button to tell visitors what you want them to do next, whether it’s buy now or explore more.

Here’s a good example:

3. Refine the footer section

The footer is often overlooked, but it’s a valuable piece that can significantly enhance user experience and boost your website’s effectiveness. Some of the elements you can consider adding are:

  • Copyright notice: Clearly state the copyright owner and year.
  • Privacy policy link: Link to your detailed privacy policy.
  • Terms of service link: Link to your terms and conditions.
  • Contact information: Include your address, phone number, and email.
  • Social media icons: Link to your social media profiles.

4. Add Customer Support section

Don’t overlook the importance of customer support for your new online store. Being available whenever customers need you the most can help drive more conversion to your store. You can consider adding these sections to your website:

  • Contact Us page: Contact Us page is a page containing your store’s contact information: Phone number, address, contact email, … In some cases, the contact page also has a contact form to receive queries from customers.

  • FAQ page: FAQ page is a page containing multiple answers to frequently asked questions of customers.

  • Live chat support: This is a widget that pops up on your website, allowing visitors to ask questions and get assistance directly from your team in real time.

For all of these sections, I suggest exploring MooseDesk, a free Live Chat, FAQ & Helpdesk App. MooseDesk provides auto-reply features during non-business hours, a proactive help center, and a user-friendly widget layout, offering an effective solution to enhance customer support on your platform.

As an expert/enthusiast in UX, I recommend implementing these changes to improve customer experience when scrolling through your store.
