GIF interfering with text on product page

Hi, does anyone know how to stop my background gif from interfering with text that I have on the page? Here, an tag has been set with

#bg {
    position: fixed;
    top: 0;
    left: 0;
    min-width: 100%;
    min-height: 100%;
}

If I delete the image, the text stops fading in and out in a pixelated way, which it does before.
