Gift Aid Declaration in backend created orders

Topic summary

  • Core issue: Gift Aid declaration can be added on the online storefront, but when creating orders in the Shopify admin (backend) there’s no option to mark Gift Aid as “Yes.” The original poster asks if this is a configuration limitation, how it could be implemented for admin-created orders, and how a Gift Aid=Yes flag could be exported.

  • Additional interest: Other users working with charities report the same need and request any solution or workaround.

  • Technical constraint noted: Most guidance found uses Liquid templates, but one participant’s theme uses JSON product templates, making existing instructions hard to apply.

  • Outcomes/decisions: No confirmed solution, configuration steps, or export method shared. No code or attachments provided.

  • Status: Unresolved and still seeking guidance or a supported method for backend orders and data export of the Gift Aid flag.

Hello,

In the online shop when creating an order we have added the gift aid declaration, but when creating an order via the Shopify backend functionality it is not possible to set the Gift Aid as Yes. Could you please let me know if this is a configuration issue or how it could be implemented and how the Gift Aid = Yes could be exported from Shopify?

Thanks,

Barsana

Hi - doing some work for a charity and they are asking the same question about Gift Aid, did you ever sort out the issue ? Thanks

Did you get anywhere with this Landy_151?

All the instructions I can find for this are based on liquid templates, but my theme uses JSON for the product templates.
