Gift Cards That Can Be Bought And Sent To Other People For Purchase

Hello there,

I’d like to know if Shopify or any Shopify apps have a feature that allows us to create a digital gift card that customers can purchase, top up with any amount they want, and create a code to give to friends or anyone else they choose. Customers could then buy anything they want, say items worth $10,000 USD, and enter the discount code on the checkout page.

That said, it’s going to be like a buyable product but it’s gonna be a digital gift card so that consumers can customize the amount of the gift and get a code after the payment (as if they are purchasing a regular product from our website) but they are not going to get product but a code instead so that they can gift this code and the receiver can purchase by this code and the amount determined by the gifter.

Shopify’s first-party gift card feature doesn’t allow for input of custom amounts for gift cards. However, this is possible through a few apps.

Gift Card Pro allows you to sell gift cards with custom amounts to customers, as well as allows them to gift the card to their desired customer. It also has custom gift card designs and allows the sender to provide custom gift messages or recorded videos to the order.

You can also use the app Gift Cards Suite or Go Gift Cards, which also allows you to do the same.
