Giving a refund to a costomer that has paid

A customer has purchased a product from me and unfortunately I cant ship the item to the person. I was wondering how do I process a refund to this person? I have watched the youtube tutorials on how to do it but there must of been a shopify update as everything I see on my computer is completely different and I cant find the refund option.

I appreciate the context that you have shared with us as that is very helpful! The process for refunding your customer will depend on which gateway has been used and the payment method. To refund a customer, you will need to navigate to the order that you would like to process the refund. You may see an option towards the top of the order to Refund your customer’s order.
