Globo Product Options — "Merge Main product & Add-on products" not showing individual add-ons on Cart Page anymore?

Hi everyone,

We’re using the Globo Product Options app with the “Merge Main product & Add-on products” setting enabled (Setting tab > Add-on price > Merge Main product & Add-on products).

According to Globo’s documentation ( Merge Main product & Add-on products | Globo Product Options | Globo Docs ), the setting is supposed to:

  • Combine the main product’s price with the selected add-on products’ prices into one total
  • Still display the individual add-on products underneath the main product on the Cart Page

This also matches the behavior we had previously confirmed and reported to our own customers a while back.

However, when we tested it again recently, here’s what we’re seeing:

  • Cart Page: Only the combined price is shown. The individual add-on products are no longer displayed separately.
  • Checkout Page: The price is combined, and the individual add-on products ARE still shown separately (as expected).

We reached out to Globo support, and they told us this is actually the intended/current behavior — that when Merge is enabled, add-ons have never been shown separately on the Cart Page, only on Checkout.

Before we take that as final, we wanted to check with other merchants here:

  1. Has anyone else used this “Merge” setting and can confirm what your Cart Page currently shows — combined price only, or combined price + individual add-ons listed?
  2. If you’ve used this setting for a while, did you ever see individual add-ons displayed on the Cart Page in the past (e.g., before a recent app update)?
  3. Any insight on whether this behavior changed at some point would really help us confirm whether this is a recent regression or if our earlier understanding was simply wrong.

We use Globo as well and based on my recent experience the Cart Page only shows the merged price while the individual add-ons are displayed at checkout. If your cart previously showed the add ons separately its possible the behavior changed in a recent app update or theme integration.

It would be helpful if other merchants could confirm whether they’re seeing the same behavior as that would clarify whether this is an app change or theme specific.

We’d like to clarify the current behavior of the “Merge Main product & Add-on products” setting in Globo Product Options:

  • Cart page: The main product and add-on prices are combined into one price. The individual add-on products are not displayed separately.
  • Checkout page: The price remains combined, while the individual add-on products are displayed separately.

We haven’t recently changed this behavior in the app.
That said, we understand that you may have seen different behavior on your store before, and the result can also be affected by the theme or cart implementation being used.
