Does anyone have recommendations for a good search and filter app for Shopify?
Boost AI Search & Filter is a bit too expensive for us at the moment. We are currently using Smart Product Filter & Search by Globo, but it is negatively affecting our page speed.
I’m mainly looking for something that is lightweight and fast, while still providing good filtering options on collection pages (and smart search).
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Any filtering app other than native “Search & Discovery” would negatively affect page speed.
While native app renders pages server-side and browser gets ready-to show HTML, other apps have to do it client-side, so there is time to load the app JS, app JS needs to request data from the App server, wait for response and only then render the page content.
One option worth trying is Searchanise Search & Filter. It’s quite popular because it provides instant search, autocomplete suggestions, and customizable collection filters.
Another good alternative is XCloud Search & Product Filter. It focuses mainly on collection page filters and a simple search bar, so it tends to be lighter and easier to integrate without affecting theme performance too much.
You could also consider using Algolia AI Search & Discovery. It’s a very powerful search solution used by many larger Shopify stores because it provides very fast search results, typo-tolerant search, autocomplete suggestions, and advanced filtering.
