My store sells fairly unique vintage and retro items, which means for each piece the inventory is usually just one. I want to do more than just promote the store as such, but rather showcase special pieces. What’s the best way to do this? For example, can I develop a campaign around maybe 10 or 20 items that are shown in rotation, and what should I budget for placement?
Hello Busy, that is a great question. You can’t control the rotation of shopping listings. Because what Google shows in shopping results is based on the search term + 200 factors. So there is no direct control. Of course you can improve the data feed quality, campaign setups for better results, but you can’t control ad rotation.
However what you can do, is only select a few products to show if that is your intention. However, I would not do this, and recommend that you list all products and only exclude products after you have tried to improve the data feed quality, then if still fails to get a sale or traction, exclude it.
But with signal sale items, that is very hard to get consistent traffic. So in this case I would consider setting up an advanced standard shopping campaign, and use targeted advertising, this to avoid wasted budget, and have a more strategic performance.
