I have a business selling scrapbooking and crafts supplies which are very niche
We have run both Meta and google ads for year but these were never effective or profitable
Our best way to promote is actually through live stream demos at virtual special interest summits, placing ads with our industry magazines and through collaborators.
Is there any reason for us to keep even a small budget on google? We may get 1 or 2 orders a week from google and our ads have been well optimized.
Hello Adelinema, thank you for your question, my name is Emmanuel founder of FeedArmy, and I will be answering your question today.
It’s always worth advertising on Google, especially just Google Shopping. So if you say your ads are well optimized, then if these campaigns are not profitable, indicates they might not be well optimized, or something is not working and needs a different approach.
For example sometimes I see accounts that are targeting everything with performance max, only to see that it’s wasting a lot of budget on demand gen ads.
I recommend you check your channel performance to see if you are targeting in areas that are just unprofitable. Maybe you will discover that actually just shopping works best.
In this case you are better off just setting up a standard shopping campaign instead of performance max.
Or maybe pmax with no ad assets, so you are targeting only shopping.
I would first try to check where you are wasting budget, then check if your search terms are relevant.
For example your sales might be purely from branded terms, which might make advertising rather pointless. Or if they are from relevant non branded search terms, it will then allow you to maybe be more focused and target more specific using an advanced strategy using standard shopping that I explain here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiRIDzRrHno
thanks ill watch your video
i really can set up basic ads as im new to google ads
Hi Emmanuel, is there any way to have my google ads target potential customers who visit specific sites? I find that the best customers for my scrapbooking products are those that attend paid virtual scrapbooking summits online. Is there a way to specifically target this audience?
You could try with performance max, and add signals. Then look under interest & detailed demographics.
Maybe summits are available.
