Google Analytics- 4 site Refused to Connect Error

Greetings all

I followed the steps (online sore/ preferences / Google Analytics/ Manage Pixel) to install GA4 by adding the Google plug in. I got the error storename. myshopify.com refused to connect.

Any ideas why I can’t install the plug in?

I was able to make it work after removing the Google app from my store and re-adding it again.
Go to Settings → Apps and remove Google sales channel and go to Shopify app store and find Google sales channel app and add it back.

Think there might have been something changed in the backend, because I uninstalled & re-installed at least 3 times before coming here.

But just tried it now and it does indeed work after a reinstall.

Thanks for the update. I did not reinstall. In my case, the app never got
installed. I just tried it again. It is working now. The change must have
been on the back end.

Mine is working now too but I found that I had the original UA code still plugged in. I removed it under Online Store → Preferences.

I’ve been running dual UA & GA4 for a while and tracking Google ads conversions with both. Now that I’ve installed the Google App, I have to remove UA code and a custom script from Loves Data. I’ll remove those over the next day or two.
