Google fields, previously working fine, now won’t work. I tried using different computers and browsers, clearing cache and cookies, and downloading spreadsheets to edit google fields.
- Could this be because I started using the new Meta fields feature that Shopify added? It seems to have stopped working around the same time, but not exactly. I’m wondering if Shopify plans to replace the Meta fields feature so that it syncs with Google.
- I’m well-versed in importing inventory through spreadsheets and always preferred it because of the Google fields options. But it’s not working now for both new and existing products. The google fields remain blank, even though the Spreadsheet is the newest up to date template, all is being imported correctly, and everything is filled correctly as it always has been.

Typing in fields, “597” represents Picture Frames. The Save button is green because I haven’t saved, yet.
What happens, now, is I click Save and it says Changes saved but when I close and come back it actually isn’t saved.
What it looks like when it saves correctly. The Save button goes grey and the Google Product Category changes from “597” to “Home & Garden > Decor > Picture Frames” as it should.
