Google Merchant Center Next: Misrepresentation

Topic summary

Misrepresentation flag in Google Merchant Center Next causing limited/no visibility for free listings and Shopping ads.

  • Affected sites: supplieswarehouse.co.uk (live >1 year) and oilpads.co.uk (live a couple of months).

  • oilpads.co.uk was confirmed compliant on 31/10/25, but has been flagged again. The merchant states no site changes since that date.

  • Both sites are sub-accounts under one main Merchant Center account; Google has acknowledged this setup.

  • Action taken: Merchant contacted Google but only received a generic misrepresentation notice with no specifics. Issue remains unclear.

  • Peer advice:

    • Audit policy pages: About, Contact, Returns, and Terms & Conditions for completeness and specificity (missing/vague info can trigger flags).
    • Verify product data consistency between the storefront and Merchant Center (pricing, availability, titles, descriptions, GTINs, etc.).
  • Status: Unresolved/ongoing. Key question is what specifically triggered the misrepresentation flag after prior approval. Next steps are to conduct a site and feed compliance audit while awaiting clearer guidance from Google support.

I have had my website live and working well for alesat a year now, no issues. However I have received a notification today that my products cant be seen on free listing/shopping ads due to misrepresentation.

I believe I am following goggles policies and cant see any issues in particular with this. Has anyone else had this issue? Or know how to fix it?. I am already familiar with the policy due to the below

Web: https://www.supplieswarehouse.co.uk/ - Had this one over a year

I had the same issue (and again) with https://oilpads.co.uk/ (had this maybe a couple of months) however on 31/10/25 I had confirmation this website meets their guidelines and was fine. However this has been flagged again as Misrepresentation. No changes on the website have been done at all since the date. I am confused.

I have contacted google to request more information but received the same reply for both cases of ‘ Unfortunately, Google found an issue with your account related to Misrepresentation that requires your attention.
As a result, your free listings and/or Shopping ads have limited visibility or cannot be displayed to customers. Check your account status to understand how the issue is impacting your products’.

Both are sub account in my merchant centre of 1 main one but google already know this and have acknowledged this too. I am on Google merchant center next if that helps.

Double check your About, Contact, Returns, and T&Cs pages (missing or vague info there often triggers misrepresentation flags). Had to fix this on a client’s store even though nothing had changed. Also verify product data consistency between site and Merchant Center.
