Google Merchant Centre Suspension-Misrepresentation

Hi All.

After setting up our new website & linking it with Google Shopping our Merchant Centre Account has been hit with a misrepresentation suspension within 4 days. I have appealed this and chatted with Google on 4 occasions but the suspension still remains in effect. Google will not elaborate on exactly what the problem is which makes it very hard to fix.

I have also requested them to undertake 2 manual reviews still no luck or real direction.

Just answers such as:

We acknowledge the comprehensive efforts you have made to ensure compliance, including:

  • Website Integrity: The site is fully functioning, with no dead links or placeholder images.

  • Data Consistency: Pricing, availability, policies, and stock images (with permission) are updated via direct feed and match exactly.

  • Business Transparency: Valid ABN, GST registration, correct contact information, and verified web addresses with SSL are all in place.

This is our website here: https://www.padlocksaustralia.com.au

Can anyone offer any suggestions or see any immediate areas of concern?

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,

Shannon.

@PadlocksAustralia Frankly I don’t see anything bad site-wise. Maybe the return address isn’t the same. Maybe product images are the same as other sites, ir descriptions are too generic? Make sure the shipping policy matches exactly what is in GMC. Also go through your GMC/Business Profile and see if there are any mis-matches. One time I changed my number for Maps and forgot to change it everywhere else and got flagged.

Hey @PadlocksAustralia! Misrepresentation suspensions are usually about Google not fully trusting the site yet, especially with new domains. Even if everything is technically correct, unclear business identity, thin policy pages, generic product content, or weak trust signals can trigger it. I’d focus on clearly showing who you are (address, phone, About Us), making policies very explicit and easy to find, and ensuring product data feels original and consistent. When appealing, briefly state what you updated and where it’s visible.

Hi @PadlocksAustralia

Like previous answers have stated, the misrepresentation issue can be a real headache.

There a few free check list that you can check out on the Internet, have a look at this one

Hope this helps!

Only 2 people clicked on your website URL as of writing. I am one of them that clicked to have a look at your website.

Your missing the shipping policy, privacy policy, contact page, disclaimer and payment policy in the footer of all pages.

Make sure you add if the item is in or out of stock on the product landing page.

You will have more issues, so make sure to check the guides and policies below:

Hi,

thanks for your feedback. The policies link is in the header and footer of the site.

The stock also shows and advises stock availibility. Inventory is tracked and diaplays “Out of stock” and cannot be purchased if stock reaches Nil.

Am I missing something here?

Make sure that you add all the links mentioned in the footer. Currently that is not the case as per the screenshot below.

Regarding availability, make sure that you add the words in stock, if it’s in stock. That is currenlty not the case.

It’s very important that you check the policies, because what I mention is explained in the official policies. I know it’s a lot of info, but to get approved you do need to go the extra mile.

Awesome! Thanks for the clarifaction.

I have added the policies to the footer and also the stock availibility icon that shows “In stock”

I have also added SKU’s to the site.

I submitted another review and it was canned withn 15 minutes.

I have put so much time in going over the policies and making sure everything is correct on the website and also the merchant centre. I am at a loss here trying to establish what to do next.

If you have checked all the policies (and all the links within each policy and so on) then the issue must be a lot deeper.

For example I would start by adding descriptions, not just bulletpoints.

I would also add your contact details in the footer, such as business name, address, email, phone, business hours.

Please note, these are just examples.

Hi @PadlocksAustralia

Misreporting is normally caused by policy signals, not a bug. Check the visible refund policy, shipping times per product, business address in the footer, consistent branding, and remove any manufacturer stock images without clear attribution. File a feed-only appeal after making changes, then ask for another review once crawled by Google Merchant Center.
