Google Merchant - Website needs Improvement

Hi everyone,

My shopify website is encountering problems with Google Merchant. My account is suspended. I have fixed all products that require attention and yet I keep receiving the following:

Website or online store needs improvement

Limits visibility of all products in United States

During the review you requested on Jun 25, 2024, Google found this to still be an issue. Make sure you meet the requirements before you request another review from Jul 3, 2024.

There was a problem identified with your website. Update your entire website to provide a useful and transparent shopping experience for customers.

Make sure your website meets the following requirements

Hi,

Hope you have updated all the information. Are you using any API or app for feed?

Hi! So, if you are facing issues with your Shopify website for the reasons listed below, then there are several things that you should try to improve. These include:

  • Domain Check: Did you verify that your website’s domain name matches the one submitted to Google?

Also, is it in the proper format like ‘.com’ for commercial websites, etc.?

  • Then, ensure that there aren’t any broken links, 404 errors, etc. That can also result into suspension.

  • Placeholder text like ‘Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet’ should also be removed.

  • Then, yes, the product details should match what you provide in the product data. Like there shouldn’t be a case where your product’s features on the website and the product data you provide don’t match. Look for all such errors and resolve them.

  • Is your business information accurate, including a verified phone number and address?

For information, please check this resource from Google: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/10740889?hl=en

Once you address these points, you can request another review from Google’s team. If issues persist, seeking direct support might be necessary.

Hope this helps.

You still have place-holder text in your Terms of Service - [LINK TO REFUND POLICY] - this shows up a couple of times in there.

You may also want to add details about the other cookies / tracking you use in your privacy policy - Google analytics / ads, Microsoft if you are using clarity and MS Ads, Facebook if you are using their pixel etc.

You also dont have an address or contact phone number which reduces your legitimacy in Googles eyes.

That said, I have done all of those things and am still battling a Website Needs Improvement ban that has been going over 2 months now, so not sure how to fix it…

You should also add a shipping policy.
