Google page index keeps finding non-existing pages

Hello, I’ve been trying to solve this on my own for a while now and keep failing…

Here are where things stand as of today: Google re-craweld our website after I thought I cleaned up things, but it keeps finding pages that I can’t find on our site, nor can I find where to delete them.

The issues seem to be from the Markets feature in Shopify, old products that aren’t active anymore (or for which the URL was changed) and Avada app sitemap.

I removed Avada a couple months ago, but Google keeps finding a sitemap in our pages.

I’ve cleaned up our pages (some Avada sitemap pages were in there, but were deleted a couple weeks ago) and all I can see (both visible and hidden) are the 7 active pages we have (this is not a big site).

I changed the Canada market settings so it uses the same domain as the US market (instead of the subfolder or a subdomain).

I’ve added an XML sitemap to the Google Search Index console generated by the “Magical XML/HTML Sitemap” app. It’s incredibly simple with 1 product and 7 pages.

I’m not sure what else to do at this point. Google is flagging our super duper simple site on our Google Merchant account for some issues they won’t specify and are preventing us from making ads. They won’t play nice and tell us what to fix, just an overall statement that we need to basically re-do our website. One possibility is issues with 404 pages, which is what I’m trying to solve here.

Thanks for any help.

PS: Your system doesn’t allow me to pick relevant labels. I’ve tried clicking existing ones, typing existing ones, typing new ones, etc. Doesn’t work. So I guess this will have the one label I can select that is more or less relevant: Optimization
