Hi, having issues getting pages indexed, issue seems to be Alternative page with proper canonical tag.
Looking through the code in Theme.liquid I’ve found this line of code could it be the issue?
Hello @SpiritualHaven ,
A canonical URL is an original URL that is the page’s “default” URL. Non-canonical URL means URLs that are duplicates of another canonical URL.
For example:
A store has a product page https://domain.com/products/product1
Suppose the product is in two different collections, the URLs will look like
https://domain.com/collections/collection1/products/product1
https://domain.com/collections/collection2/products/product1
Basically, both collection pages point to the original https://domain.com/products/product1 URL.
Alternate Page with Proper Canonical Tag” status message in Google Search Console means that there are two versions of a page on your website having the same canonical URL. Google will simply exclude the duplicate version and index the main version of the page.
Hope this helps.
