Google Search Console - Not Indexed after move to Shopify

Hello, I moved from woocommerce to shopify. My site did not get a lot of traffic from woocommerce. My Google Search Console shows 523 not indexed pages, which is mostly product links. Only 12 pages are indexed. How do I fix this?

Thanks!

Hi , @FSC1_1
When product pages show as “Not indexed” in Google Search Console, it generally means Google is aware of the pages but hasn’t included them in the index yet. A few areas worth checking:

  1. Check the indexing reason
In Search Console - Pages - Not indexed, open a few URLs and review the reason That usually indicates whether it’s a crawl or content priority issue.
  2. Improve internal linking
Ensure products are linked from collections, navigation, or featured sections so search engines can reach them easily.
  3. Double-check your sitemap in Search Console
Make sure your sitemap is submitted and processed correctly. It helps Google find all your product and collection pages.
These checks help Google discover and index your all pages more consistently. It’s also helpful to monitor indexing status in tools like Google Search Console (ht tps://apps.shopify.com/google-search-console-1) , since it provides detailed reports on crawl and indexing issues.
Disclaimer : I’m affiliated with this app and it is completely optional to use.
    Hope this helps !

When we replatformed our parts catalog we had the same five-hundred-plus “Discovered, currently not indexed” pile even though the sitemap looked fine.
What finally nudged Google was resubmitting the sitemap after purging every leftover Woo slug and making sure the canonical on each product matched the new URL.
I also requested indexing on a handful of priority SKUs each week so GSC could see the new structure actually returning 200s.
A month later the crawl budget caught up and the rest of the collection pages followed.
