For beginners, I recommend that you use performance max. As it targets all platforms in 1 campaign, shopping, search, display etc.
However, what is the best, depends on what you sell, how the performance is etc.
For example, I may start with performance max, but after a few months, I might change depending on the results. It’s not as simply as, this works in one account, it should work in another.
So you need to react based on results.
