Google Shopping App Purchase Conversion and Enhanced Conversions

I have “Google Shopping App Purchase” conversion added by Google channel by Shopify app. When I tried to turn on enhanced conversions, I received an error “Issues detected with your enhanced conversion setup”. Conversion diagnostics page says: “Switch to in-page code or API for better results”.

I followed the instructions from there to make it work, however it still shows an error - please see the screenshot below.

And when you click on go to diagnostics, what does it say? Most likely a value you added is not correct.

No, I used the values I found here :backhand_index_pointing_right: https://bit.ly/3vWVI24 because there instructions were for those who installed Google Shopping Channel app, connected it with Google Ads and now have Conversions added by the app. The values are these:

  • Email: Javascript: Shopify.checkout.email
  • Phone: Javascript: Shopify.checkout.phone
  • Name and Address: Javascript:
    • Shopify.checkout.billing_address.first_name
    • Shopify.checkout.billing_address.last_name
    • Shopify.checkout.billing_address.address1
    • Shopify.checkout.billing_address.city
    • Shopify.checkout.billing_address.province_code
    • Shopify.checkout.billing_address.country_code
    • Shopify.checkout.billing_address.zip

When I go to diagnostics i see this :backhand_index_pointing_down:

I contacted Google Shopping Channel App support, Google Ads, but haven’t received any answer yet.

Just a side note, my code is available to all Shopify users, regardless of app they use, as it does not conflict with anything.

I recommend trying the tutorial I provided and see if it works. That issue you get has never appeared when I create conversion tracking. So you might be having issues just because you are modifying a Shopify created conversion action.
