Hi everyone, in my product page, there’s just one sharing tab, but it seems to be out of context when it just allows people to share via copy link or email. So I wonder where is the social sharing buttons that many websites have but I don’t. I’m looking for a solution using coding rather than third party app.
Thanks for your support, but they all prefer to use available social buttons in the footer and my Craft theme doesn’t have a list of icons when they told: “Clicking add a new asset” in the assets folder
You’re right—the social sharing block in the Craft theme uses text and an arrow icon leading to a link you can copy. This means that customers can share the link on any social channel they choose, rather than being limited to the options available on each store.
I’m not sure whether this is something our Theme Support team can help you customize, but we can certainly create a request for you. Please get in touch via the Shopify Help Center so we can get that process started.
Alternatively, I found a couple free apps that will put social sharing icons on your store without the need to add custom code yourself:
Hi Sofia, I’ve contacted with Shopify support and read the doc but nothing was helpful. My customers don’t really like copying the link then paste it in their social media walls, it’s definitely longer than clicking social buttons and sharing it. I do prefer coding to adding any third-party app. I’m still looking for the solution !!
Thanks for letting me know! My previous reply had been marked as the solution, and I’ve just removed that so that anyone else coming across this thread will know you’re still looking for answers.
