Has anyone been able to successfully use Amazon by Codisto?

We have been trying to integrate our shop into Amazon for over 30 days using the Codisto app but it does not work. Even their tech support cannot get it working. This certainly looks bad for Shopify if their number one recommended app for integrating into Amazon does not work and cannot be supported. What is your experience?

I have, but it depends what you’re trying to integrate.

I’ve been selling on Amazon via my store for about 6 years, also have been on the other side, a Shopify developer and Shopify app developer for about 10 years.

Here’s our setup in the store:

We currently use Codisto to automatically import FBM Amazon orders into Shopify (for products that we don’t carry FBA), where the store then processes the orders. It’s been great at that.

For creating product listings, we import into Amazon via CSV. This allows the listings to be tailored specifically for each platform (since Amazon is a marketplace, not your own branded site, plus has different listing requirements, simply copying listing descriptions over isn’t ideal for Amazon SEO and conversion rate).

Then we use Order Automator (which I’m also the lead developer of) to automatically fulfill Shopify orders using Amazon FBA (most of the products we keep in Amazon FBA warehouses, for hands-off automatic fulfillment). Here’s the setup for that: https://speedboostr.com/automate-order-fulfillment-on-shopify.

If none of those solutions work, I would repost in the forums exactly what you’re looking to do, also I would reach out to the app developers again. They’ll know best how the app works and what is the specific problem for your integration.

Joe,

Are you a consultant?

We have a shop on Shopify but all of our products are print on demand through Printify. Currently, we have around 84 items (tee-bleep and hoodies) in various sizes and colors which multiply out to over 700 sku’s. As a test we purchased only 5 GTINs to determine if we could find a way to sell our items on Amazon. So far, this has been a nightmare.

Our goal was to remain using the Shopify platform as our shop and order processing with vendors from Printify completing the fulfillment process.. Since Shopify fully integrates with Printify, we have very little duplicate work between these platforms. Since Amazon is the 600 guerilla for online sales, we want to find a way to easily get our products on this sales platform. The promise from Shopify and Codisto for this integration is highly over sated and does not reflect reality.

We were not anticipating opening an Amazon shop or having upload cvs files every time we make a change to our product line, which is often. We add new designs, in multiple colors, to our product line which prompts multiple, colors and sizes for tee-shirts and hoodies.

Is this anything that you have successfully dealt with in the past? We are looking for answers and help.

@CityLine I’m not taking on new clients, but I like to contribute still to the community via the forums.

In your case, you might want to check out Amazon Merch. It’s like Printify but everything happens within Amazon. I know people that have had good success with that.

You could of course build a fully custom app, but that would cost you thousands in dev cost + you’d still have a monthly fee (for server and plugin costs).

If you’re not planning on opening an Amazon shop then you don’t need any of this, but if you are planning on selling on Amazon, it seems working it out with Codisto would be your best bet (that I know of), maybe they can even do a customization if your current situation isn’t working.

Good luck, I hope you can find a good solution.

Thanks for your suggestions. We will keep explorering a path forward.

I’m going insane trying to figure it out, about to bail

I applied to amazon merch, it’s not for shop integration, it’s to put your design on amazons merch, they create, fulfill and ship. They didn’t accept me. So, I’ve been trying to get my shopify items on amazon with codisto, going insane

I set mine up just this weekend. First time I’ve done it before. I’m using Printful. I am also not purchasing GTINS as I am selling my own unique items/designs and just starting out. In order to get the product to send from Shopify to Amazon via Codisto, I needed to apply on Amazon for a GTIN exemption for the categories I planned to sell in. I then emailed Codisto support with a screenshot providing proof that Amazon approved my exemption. They added that to my account and after that the product data began flowing automatically (although it took a while). I did need to flip the setting in the Codisto app to ‘Offer Only’ and then back to sending the full product data in order to re-trigger the data feed.

Not sure if that helps at all.
