Having issues with POS network forgetting default printer settings?

Hi all,

We have a POS location within site which has a shared internet network with other businesses.

The problem we are having is that there are 3 no. Star Receipt printers on the same network.

And although each POS app has settings for a default printer, it keeps forgetting the settings and printing out on another Start receipt printer.

2 of the businesses have Shopify POS, the other is on a different POS provider… however the Shopify POS apps have discovered the 3 printers on the network.

Frustrating for customers and all businesses alike.

Has anyone else had this issue and/or resolved it?

It would be great if there was a way to get the Shopify POS app to forget or deny unwanted printers on the network… but that’d be too easy right?!

TIA

Mike

Hi @mikea001 ,

You would rather choose to isolate subnets on your router/network equipment to make each printer visible only to each POS. This means 1 POS will be 192.168.10.2 and the printer is 192.168.10.3 and the rules to make devices be discoverable only in their own subnets. I suppose this will solve everything.
