Hi everyone,
I’m currently finishing my shop design in DAWN theme and one thing drives me crazy.
I am unable to find a reason behind alternate logo positioning in preview.
When I’m customizing my theme everything is as it is supoosed to be:
- logo in line with menu, on the left side of the screen
However when I’m accessing preview, the logo is in default position:
- middle, center, above the menu
Do you maybe have an idea where to look for the solution?
I’ve tried clearing cache, cookies, different browsers and incognito modes. Nothing changes.
Have a great day!
Thanks!
Kacper

Hi @ArcheMini
Are you sure you save changes to the Customization? Also, we encounter this problem when multiple people edits the theme.

how can I share the preview with you?
Hi @ArcheMini
This is Richard from PageFly - Shopify Page Builder App, I’d like to suggest this idea:
Make sure you save your changes so they are accurately depicted in Preview
Hope you find my answer helpful!
Best regards,
Richard | PageFly
A thing to test is does this happen with a freshly installed theme?
In which case a support ticket should be raised with shopify support.
https://help.shopify.com/en/contact
Or an search for a pre-existing issue on the Dawn github repo or create one if no duplicate issues.
Is it only previews? Clarify the severity of the problem what actually happens when you save the changes for the live published theme.
Do the changes for the live site work or not?
For previews, there are different preview systems.
Always test previews in a different browser with a clean/empty cache, or an incognito browser window. This is a habit you want to have for testing your site as a new customer would see it.
The editors onsite preview systems (yourstore.com?preview_theme_id=..) have always been wonky.
The main annoyance that can happen is your local browser cache is mucking things up, or shopifys cache’ing is updated yet so things are out of sync.
The offsite “share preview” generated preview urls .shopifypreview.com, etc tend to be better with cache since it’s a new subdomain instance but are clunky to use when iterating.
Sometimes the cause can be errors on the site, such as invalid CSS from customizations or apps.
Another factor is if you have any browser extensions that modify pages, such as for creating a/b tests or creating styling for buttons, etc.
Good Hunting.
I’m sure Richard.
It’s not for the lack of save.
Paul,
FYI I am about to put the shop online to my domain.
For now it is a development store.
Given that, I am unable (to my knowledge) to use anything besides theeditors onsite preview system. But I may be wrong, I’m new to Shopify. I’d be grateful for any hints and tips
Regarding browser addons and extensions, in Chrome the only thing related to web-content is Wappalyzer, so i I don’t think it is the issue
You still have this problem? Would you mind to share the preview lets try to change in code? If you like. Thanks!
I checked my other themes and themes’ versions as well and it seems my preview mode is non-responsive any to logo position changes.
I can change header’s main-menu position via .css (left, right, center), i can change the logo image too. These changes apply to the preview. But the positon of the logo is constant.
