My daughter frequents and buys from a internet merchant, Hooked on Pickin, My credit card info shows up in her Hooked on Pickin acct and I can’t seem to remove it. I do not want my credit card info to be attached to her Hooked on Pickin website. I contacted Hooked on Pickin already and they told me I have to have Shopify remove it.
Topic summary
A parent’s credit card information is automatically appearing in their daughter’s account on the Hooked on Pickin website (a Shopify-powered store). The merchant directed them to contact Shopify for removal.
Suggested Solutions:
- Clear browser cookies and browsing history
- Log into the daughter’s account and check for saved payment methods under “Payment Methods” or “Saved Cards” sections
- Remove saved card details from browser autofill settings (Chrome > Settings > Autofill > Payment Methods)
- Contact the merchant again to verify if card details are stored in their customer database
Key Context:
Shopify itself doesn’t store credit card details directly—the issue likely stems from either the store’s customer database or browser-saved payment information on a shared device. The discussion remains open with no confirmed resolution yet.
Hi @laurie01
Have you tried to remove the cookies? Clear browsing history?
@laurie01 It sounds like your credit card details might have been saved as a payment method in your daughter’s account on the “Hooked on Pickin” website, which is powered by Shopify. However, Shopify does not store credit card details directly, so this issue is likely tied to the specific store’s setup or the browser’s saved information.
Since the issue is related to Hooked on Pickin store specifically, they should assist in resolving it. Ask them to verify if your card details are saved in their customer database and request its removal.
And Log in to your daughter’s Hooked on Pickin account. Look under the “Payment Methods” or “Saved Cards” section and delete your credit card details, if visible.
If your daughter uses a shared device, the browser might have saved your credit card details. Go to the browser settings (e.g., Chrome > Settings > Autofill > Payment Methods) and remove your card details.
I had the same issue. I ended up going to my hooked on pickling account and started a fake order. I put one item in the cary then continued to the page where you review all of your information. I scrolled down o my payment method and clicked on the dots to the right of it. That gave me the option to edit or delete so I deleted it.
I use my cell phone so I’m not sure if this will work on a pc or tablet. They’ve been doing this long enough they they should know how to help with this.
