HELP - My Site Speed on Mobile is too SLOW

Hi,

I was running a page speed test with Google and my mobile speed only ranks at 45.

I don’t know how I can fix this but I would really appreciate it if someone can help me out.

My website is: rockjaw.co.uk/products/rockjaw

Thank you!

If you were talking about this tool https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ it will give you information on the test page as to what is slowing your site down.

It might point out things like apps that you are using that are slowing things down, or unused scripts etc that you might be able to alter/delete. Another thing might be to optimise images. However, some of it might be the actual theme itself. My site ranks really good for desktop but not particularly good for mobile. I’m using a Shopify developed theme and quite a bit of what is slowing things down for mobile users at least is the actual theme. Its’s been coded well for speed on desktops but whilst it’s mobile friendly in terms of being usuable on mobiles it’s not so great on the speed test for mobiles.

Thank you for your reply! I have compressed the images and I’m having the same issue, the desktop site is extremely fast and the mobile one is slow. The issue main concern is the products page is extremely slow. I’m only using 3 applications on my store.

Warm regards.

It shows what the issues are but I don’t understand what any of this means.

If you’re talking about the collection pages you can change the number of products shown on the collections page to be less to help speed up delivery of those pages. If you’re specifically talking about individual product pages, then if you’ve looked at your apps and images you are utilising then I’m not sure what else to suggest, other than if speed for loading on mobile is extremely important to you then you might need to look at a completely different theme.

If you click on the little down arrows next to the different items shown on the site test, it will give you further details. That’s how I found that one of my apps had javascript that was seriously slowing things down.
