hi all im totally new to all this but me and a friend are trying to get the basics working before we start loading products.

so we need to be able to prevent the sale of only certain products to certain post codes or towns in shopifty.

the plan is we offer local fitting service and add this to the products list with type “service” we need to prevent the sale of these products buy name or hopefully by type or tag to certain area we wouldnt want to travel too,

we need it to only include certain products the services as we also ship all products all over the country so we cannot fully block all products.

for example we might sell a system to london and we could post it to them but would not fit anyting passed oxford so the fitting service to that area should be blocked. however if the customer wanted a system local to us then they should be able to add the system and also the fitting on it.

Hello there, huge congrats on taking the leap and starting your own shopify store! you are now Business owner!

Regarding the issues you currently facing here are different tactical ways i know you can approach this

  1. You can tag or type your fitting services.
  2. You can use shipping zones and profiles to control availability by postcode.
  3. You can utilize apps like Locksmith, Shippify, or ShipUp to restrict specific product purchases based on location.
  4. You can implement custom code for enhanced control over postcodes. ( This is optional since you’re new and only a developer can help you out with this).

BE SPECIFIC in titles , when starting realize your gambling time.. yours and others when making a post.

Be specific in titles take the time to make a proper title when posting, being ambiguous in any part of your post is a good way for experts in the area your seeking help for to completely blow past your post leaving you to join the MASSIVE unsolved pile

If you don’t find a targeted solution in a few days, search the forums or make an improved post using your newly accumulated knowledge from contributors answers such as specific terminology in a more relevant forum as they are more likely to have an expert for a specific issues than the a main dumping forum.

Don’t make word for word duplicates, improve the problem statement after searching.
