HELP! Shopify removing tax from Custom Sales.... even though the box is checked!

Starting yesterday 11/10, when I enter a custom sale, even though the sales tax box is checked, it won’t add tax at checkout- or it adds it and immediately deletes it and I can’t get it back.

I’m not having the problem with my inventory products, only the custom sales… and there doesn’t seem to by any way to modify it on the back end… Any suggestions?

this is what worked for me. Go to taxes and duties in your settings. click you country under manage sales tax collection.

first option was Current tax services. Hit manage and switch to basic tax.
