Help with adding a hover effect on the cart icon to show products in cart

Struggling here to write the code for the shopping cart icon to show content upon hover . Can someone please help . I am using Dawn theme

The website is not live and it asks for password buddy as I am doing this for a friend . Basically any Dawn theme solution on this would be very helpful.

In the dawn theme there is nothing to show when you hover on the cart icon it will look like this -

Now what is your issue without checking I can’t help you!

I would like when I hover over the basket icon with the mouse to open the contents that have been added to the basket . Hope this makes more sense .
