I have a supplier who is happy for their products to be on a Shopify store, however they do not want their products being displayed alongside others within the store. For example, if they sold ‘red apples’ and another manufacturer sold ‘green apples’, if a customer searched for ‘apples’ then only the ‘green apples’ would be shown. The only way to see their products is by navigating to their personalised manufacturer section on the shop.
I have achieved this using the “seo.hidden = 1” method, and also disabled the product suggestions in the search bar.
The problem is that this also means Google cannot index these products. I am allowed to promote and advertise these products on Google, so I need to keep the instore ‘hiding’ functionality I have got using seo.hidden, but I still want these items to be available to Google indexing.
Any suggestions welcomed with code, no apps.
