I have a Shopify store with multiple inventory locations. One of the locations, let’s call it “Online Stock,” does not have any on-site sales. In the settings it shows as POS Lite because I don’t see a way to completely remove the POS service from it.
My goal is that inventory at that location will be invisible in the POS. So for example, the message showing that inventory is available at other locations would not take the inventory at the “Online Stock” location into account.
Is it possible to do this?
Completely hide the location in POS?
Hide it from all except admin users?
Not take the inventory into account?
Workarounds?
There are some other similar questions out there but it looked like this was still unique question relative to the existing topics so I’m starting a new chain.

Yes, it can be done, but the key is to separate the availability of inventory from the location itself. POS will generally detect active locations, so hiding the location from POS is not always possible.
One pragmatic solution is to change the products inventory availability and fullfillment options so that Online Stock is not considered a POS location. Also check the POS location and staff permissions to determine what POS users will have access. Test your location configuration with a product that is only assigned to the POS locations you want it to be assigned to.
I’m not sure I understand your answer. It sounds like you’re saying to change the product level settings for individual products? I don’t see how that would cause the overall “Online Stock” location to be hidden in POS.
