Hide products from shopify admin (but needs to be active for use in channels)

We have multiple products with the same name (variations for different channels etc.). So, when we go in to the Shopify back-end to (for example) create a manual order, several duplicates show up. I would like only one to show up because it is cumbersome and hard for employees to know which of the product options to choose when creating a manual order.

Is there a way to hide some of them on the shopify back-end?

Notes:

We need to have multiple products to change out which variants are offered by channel, which photos we show etc.

This is NOT a question about hiding from channels, that is very straightforward.
