Hide / readonly email field on checkout page - possible?

Hey. Is there a way to hide or make email field readonly on the checkout page? We use Shopify JavaScript Buy SDK to generate checkouts, everything on our end is quite custom and we use our own account system. Customers must be logged-in in order to checkout, so we always send email address along with the line-items. Email field gets prefilled which is what we want, but sometimes customers change it and that’s where we run into problems, because we can’t match their orders with our accounts anymore. We’re on shopify plus and we have investigated an option to build a completely custom checkout experience from the ground up, however we’re not ready for it yet.
