Hierarchy of products, collections, and kits

Hi,

What is the hierarchy of products, collections, and kits?

I’m getting broken link reports from a site crawl, and I’m not sure where to make the fixes. I have the notion that products are the root element, and that if I fix a product, the fix is propagated throughout the collections etc.

For example, if I fix broken URLs in the following pages:

https://www.revoderm.com/products/anti-aging-texture-kit
https://www.revoderm.com/products/sensitive-skin-redness-kit
https://www.revoderm.com/products/skin-recovery-post-laser

Can I assume they are also fixed in these pages?

https://www.revoderm.com/collections/all/products/anti-aging-texture-kit
https://www.revoderm.com/collections/all/products/sensitive-skin-redness-kit
https://www.revoderm.com/collections/all/products/skin-recovery-post-laser

Products are under a collections. This is the current hierarchy. No kit exists in Shopify system, only products and collections exist

Now the links are clickable. The question is why the site crawl service report some of them as dead links. In general, only 404 not found should be treated as a dead link.

If Google search console doesn’t report any deadlinks, there is no need to fix anything.

Hi @jam_chan

Thanks for this info.

If I fix a dead link in a product, will the fix automatically propagate to collections that include the product?

Thanks.

Should be Yes. Both URLs link to the same product page.
