Homepage Collection Design

Hi everyone

I am a bit new to Shopify, I have been developing a homepage for my activewear brand, and I’d love it if I could get my homepage collection to sit and present like this

Can someone please help me? It’d be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

Hi @AphroditeActivewear

With is theme you are using on your store? To get collection section show you need find on sections setting, if the theme not support layout collection as like you want, maybe you need to customize a little bit to code.

You can use AI that Shopify provide or get from support from dev to implement.

Hey @AphroditeActivewear

These types of sections are usually called as “Featured Collection”. What theme are you using? Usually every theme has that section but if you want a section exactly as per your screenshot then you’ll have to custom code it.

If you’re not comfortable with editing theme files the let me know and I’ll be happy to give you a helping hand.

Best,
Moeed

Hey @AphroditeActivewear Welcome to Shopify Community can you please share the Website URL

Hey, yeah you can definitely achieve that

That layout is usually a custom collection grid (not the default one), where images are styled larger with text overlays or stacked sections.

Your pain point is the default Shopify sections are a bit limited for that look.

You’ve got 2 options:

  • Use a theme that supports advanced layouts (like Dawn with tweaks or a premium theme)

  • Or add custom CSS / a custom section to control spacing, image size, and positioning

I can guide you exactly, just need to know:
Which theme are you using right now?
And do you want it clickable as collections or just visual banners?

The theme you are using will determine the type of feature collection. Can you share the type of theme you are using to give you the right solution to achieve this

Hi @AphroditeActivewear,

That type of homepage collection layout is usually possible, but I would first make sure the section is responsive before focusing on the exact desktop design.

A few things to check:

1. Does the layout still look clean on mobile?

2. Are all collection images using consistent aspect ratios?

3. Is the section easy to edit from the theme editor?

4. Does it slow the homepage down with oversized images?

5. Does the collection order match how customers actually shop?

For an activewear store, I would keep the first version simple: strong collection images, clear category names, and a mobile-first layout.

Once the design is close to launch, it is also worth doing a quick store health check for large files, slow scripts, product content gaps, and discount issues.

Checkpoint: Store Scanner can help with that kind of pre-launch QA, but the first priority here is getting the section structure right. If you share more details in this thread about the theme and section setup, I can point you in the right direction.
