Honest feedback with practical solution

Hello,

I designed my ecommerce website, Amtikiss Casuals, where I offer hypoallergenic and exquisite jewelry and fashion accessories for everyday comfort and elegance. I hooe to bring in ecifriendly, safe, and ethically sourced everyday wears as the business grow is the reason for the name Amtikiss Casuals

I seek your honest feedback on the website. I wilṣ like to know if you will buy from me and the reason you will or will not buy from me with practical solutions as a small solopreneur.

Hey @R.Atanda

In my opinion, the store is too basic and not designed professionally. Let’s say when you land on the homepage, the first thing you see is a really big header and a very tiny logo which doesn’t gives a professional look and makes the store look suspicious.

After that, when you open any product page, then first thing which is very unprofessional is the huge font size and huge image sizes.

CONCLUSION: The store looks pretty simple just like every other store. I would recommend try going around Pinterest and searching for some good website templates regarding your niche as it will give you some nice-looking suggestions.

If you’d like me to give your store the right direction then feel free to connect with me and I would be more than happy to help you out.

Best,
Moeed

Hi @R.Atanda ,

I’ve checked your store, and it’s similar to most basic stores out there. To level up your design and make it more unique, you might want to check out apps like GemPages or PageFly. These apps allow you to create more custom and engaging pages without needing advanced coding skills.

Hope that helps, and feel free to reach out if you need more advice!

Hi @R.Atanda,

It’s always inspiring to see store owners like you who truly care about their customers - with values like eco-friendliness, safety, and ethical sourcing at the core, I genuinely believe you’ll be on the right path if you keep building around them.

When it comes to whether people will buy, it’s rarely just about visiting the site and making a purchase. Many factors influence that decision, and I think with a few improvements, you can make your store even more trustworthy and conversion-friendly. Here are some suggestions:

  • Simplify the search bar: Right now, it takes up too much space at the top and can feel overwhelming. Since new visitors don’t yet know what to search for, it may even distract them from exploring naturally. Streamlining it will let your products and message stand out more.
  • Add product reviews: Shoppers rely heavily on social proof. Even just a handful of reviews can make a big difference, and over time, building a strong base of customer feedback will be a powerful trust signal.
  • Trust-building elements: Include clear return/refund policies, secure payment icons, and maybe a short “why shop with us” section. The more transparent and approachable you are, the more confident visitors will feel buying from you.
  • SEO & discoverability: Invest time in optimizing your product titles and descriptions with the right keywords. That way, people searching for “hypoallergenic earrings” or “eco-friendly jewelry” will be more likely to find you organically.
  • Affiliate & Referral Marketing: Instead of relying only on ads, think about building a referral system where KOLs or even your past customers can share your products and earn rewards. This not only spreads your brand more naturally but also strengthens trust through real experiences. A tool like UpPromote could be helpful in setting this up smoothly.

In the end, the foundation you’ve set - care for your customers and focus on safe, ethical products - is exactly what helps small solopreneurs stand out. With some refinements to the site experience and a steady focus on trust and visibility, I can definitely see your store gaining momentum.

Wishing you all the best as you grow!

Hi @R.Atanda

After checking your website, I really like the design and UI, honestly. Except that, I am very willing to share you further ideas to make your store perform better.

  1. The product I circled on the homepage seems like not placing properly, it looks like shrunk and not well organized, suggest you contact developers to redesign the position and make it in order compared with other products.

  2. The title “From Our Blog…” seems like too close with the rich media contents below, and it will be better if you can add an extra blank line between them, so that they look in a better position.

  3. You can add some sales or trust badges on product page, to let customers stay longer and leave a deeper impression when viewing.

  4. There exist one empty page in google search when I check on Google and after clicking, it has no practical contents. If this page is not existing anymore, better add noindex tag or let Google reindex store to update page contents, or visitors will fail to check page contents and affect your sales in some way. Concerning this part, SEOAnt can help you here, as we have one feature to let you decide whether to choose index or noindex on specific pages, you can have a try if you feel interested.

I hope my ideas can give you some help and support here. Thank you!

Hey @R.Atanda,

I took a look at your site, and I love the concept behind your brand, hypoallergenic, ethically sourced jewelry is a great niche. It’s clear that you’re focused on providing quality and comfort. That said, there are a few things you could improve to increase sales and make the shopping experience smoother.

First off, you’re missing opportunities to upsell and cross-sell your products. Jewelry buyers often like to buy sets, so if someone picks out a necklace, it would be helpful to show them matching earrings or bracelets. It’s a simple tweak, but adding recommendations for related items could increase your average order value.

Another thing is the shopping cart experience. On mobile, it can be a bit annoying to scroll back to the cart. Consider adding a sticky add-to-cart button or a cart drawer so customers don’t have to navigate away from the page to check their items. Keeping them engaged and allowing them to easily continue shopping can definitely help boost conversions.

Also, adding a progress bar that shows how far a customer is from receiving free shipping or a discount could be a game-changer. This little detail often nudges customers to add just one more item to their cart, increasing your overall sales without them feeling pressured.

In terms of visibility, I’d suggest working on your SEO a bit. Your meta titles, descriptions, and headings could be improved to attract more people who are specifically searching for products like “hypoallergenic jewelry” or “ethical fashion accessories.” Improving these basic SEO elements will help you show up higher in search results and bring in more targeted traffic.

Lastly, consider offering product bundles. Many customers love the convenience of buying a complete set, and bundling items like earrings, bracelets, and necklaces at a slight discount could encourage them to spend a little more.

Your site has great potential! These tweaks will help boost your conversion rates and overall sales. I’d definitely consider buying from you if I saw more product recommendations and clear trust signals like free returns and warranties at checkout.

One more thing to keep in mind is to avoid spending your budget on multiple apps. Instead, consider using an app like iCart, which combines all the cart optimization features you need in one place.

Good luck with everything, and I hope this helps! Let me know if you need any more advice.

Hi there @R.Atanda I had a look at your store and I must commend you that it basically covers all the major aspects- customer reviews, product categories, even a blog. Your store is definitely one of the best presented ones I’ve come across on here. My only suggestion would be to include a short video or two on the homepage in high definition just to showcase the products a bit better.

Thank you so much Jeffery. This really really helpful

Hii @R.Atanda , It is better to keep the store speed as high as possible because, as a user, you want to do everything in a quick succession. So optimize your site and enhance the loading speed. I have conducted a test for your store by using Google Page Insights Report, and the results are not up to the standards you need very big improvement is needed.

Here are some ways to fix that -

  • Image Delivery - You need to improve the image delivery of your store, as it is causing LCP to go high. Reducing the download time of images can improve the perceived load time of the page and LCP.

    Image Compression - You have to compress the image, as well as compression adds a factor in enhancing image delivery.

    Additionally, you also need to add responsiveness to the images

<img
  src="{{ product.featured_image | img_url: '412x618' }}"
  srcset="
    {{ product.featured_image | img_url: '206x309' }} 206w,
    {{ product.featured_image | img_url: '412x618' }} 412w,
    {{ product.featured_image | img_url: '618x927' }} 618w
  "
  sizes="(max-width: 480px) 206px, (max-width: 768px) 412px, 618px"
  alt="{{ product.featured_image.alt | escape }}"
  loading="lazy"
>
  • Main Thread Work - The main thread in the browser is responsible for Parsing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. When there’s too much work queued on the main thread, the browser becomes blocked. It is always preferable to defer and async JS like the below-mentioned example -

  • <script src="{{ 'some-app.js' | asset_url }}" defer></script>

    Layout shift culprits- Layout shifts occur when elements move without any user interaction. Investigate the causes of layout shifts, such as elements being added, removed, or their fonts changing as the page loads. You can use CSS Aspect Ratios for Responsive Images, like the example -

.product-image {
  aspect-ratio: 4/3; /* or auto calculated */
  width: 100%;
  object-fit: cover;
}

Alternatively, if you do not want to invest your precious time in solving these issues, I recommend trying Website Speedy- a Shopify app that manages the optimization on its own by optimizing the images, JS, and CSS. It comes with a 14-day free trial, so try it out for your store.

(Disclaimer: We are the developers of this app and ready to serve you in every problem you face.)

I really like it. For critique purposes, I’d make some very minor changes. The logo on mobile is too small, and seems to shrink when you scroll. Some product images don’t align properly:

The Partner link in the footer is refer-a-friend url instead of page title url. Try to have things match for good SEO. Link name should be similar to page title, title should be similar to url, etc. I like that you have actual contact information. Overall, good job :+1:

Very welcome here and I’m happy to help!:partying_face:

Thank you very much @Website_Speedy. I truly appreciate your insight.

Maximus, thank you so much for your review. I will ensure to make all corrections.

Thank you so much, @Bundler-Manuel. I will ensure to do that. I added it in the past but for fear of page load speed, i removed it. But will add it again as I effect the feedbacks.

@rutvik_shop, thank you so much for your detaiṣed feedback. I note everything down and will make sure to effect them

Thank you so much Namphan. I am noting down every feedback and will make sure I implement them to the best of Amtikiss Casuals for a better customer shopping experience
