Horizon Theme – Product-Specific Accordion Content Without Code

Hi, I’m using Shopify’s Horizon theme and the Default product template.

I created accordion rows for Details and Care. Inside each accordion row, I added a Text block. However, the Text block is shared across all products, so when I update the content for one product, it changes on every product page.

There is no dynamic source icon on the Text block, and under Add block I can only see Accordion row. I also cannot find a Product metafield, Custom property, or dynamic content block.

Is there a native no-code way in the Horizon theme to display different Details and Care content for each product inside accordion rows?

I do not want to create a separate product template for every product or edit the theme code.

However, it would still show the accordion row even if metafield is empty.

This can be fixed, say if your metafield is of “Rich text” type, then you can paste this code into “Custom CSS” setting of the “Product info” section:

accordion-custom:not(:has(.details-content *)) {
  display: none;
}

Other types of metafield may required different approach.

Thank you for confirming.

I can connect standard fields such as Product Description, Title and Category Metafields, but my custom Rich Text Product Metafield does not appear in the Dynamic Source list.

Is this a current limitation of the Horizon theme, or am I missing a setting?

If it’s a limitation, is there any no-code workaround without creating separate product templates?

In my screenshot, test rte is actually a metafield of the “rich text” type, so this is definitely possible.

I scrolled all the way to the bottom, but my Rich Text product metafield still doesn’t appear.

Here are my Dynamic Source list and my Product Metafields.

Could you please check if I created the metafield correctly?

I reproduced your setup in my store with Horizon theme without any code edit or app.
Result:

Steps:-
Create the two metafields

• Settings > Custom data > Products > Add definition.
• Make one called Details and one called Care, both type Rich text.
• Leave Storefront access on.

Add the content on each product

• Open a product, scroll to Metafields, fill in Details and Care for that product.
• Repeat per product. This is the text that changes.

Connect the Text block to the metafield

• Theme editor, expand your Accordion, then the Accordion row, then click the Text block inside it.

• Click the small database icon on the Text field (Connect dynamic source).
• Pick Details.
• Delete any leftover placeholder text in the field, or it shows twice.

Repeat for the Care row

• Same steps, pick Care instead.
• One accordion, built once. Every product now shows its own text.

If a product has no Details or Care, the row shows up empty. Either fill it in, or use tim_tairli’s Custom CSS to hide the empty row.
