Hot to deactivate shopify order confirmation emails

Hi,

I have a 3rd party email service send my order confirmation emails, so I am trying to deactivate the Shopify emails that get sent out automatically so that my customers don’t get 2 emails for each order.

I can’t find a solution on how to do this…

Would it work to simply delete the HTML for the shopify confirmation email template? (Then there would be no email for shopify to send out..)

How about editing the code to take out the email templates…?

Any other way to do this??

Thanks!!!

I believe this is only impossible in Shopify Plus.

How absurd is it that one needs to pay $2000 a month in order to have his
customers’ not be bombarded with 2 emails for each order!

Shouldn’t this be a normal feature built into any self respecting web
design company??

Shopify should either allow it for regular users or make their emails more
customizable so we don’t need to use a 3rd party.

What do you need to change in the email?

Everything. They are awfully designed with little room for customization.

And they go to the “Promotions” tab in gmail bec they have too many links…

You can completely change the template to whatever you like in Notifications > Order Confirmation > Edit Code.

You would need knowledge of HTML though. A workaround would be to use a tool to create the the email and then copy/paste the code to Shopify.

I guess so.

It’s just annoying because there is no easy way to customize the emails unless you know HTML.

At the same time, I’m happy to use a 3rd party email sender but I can’t disable the Shopify emails..

I’m kinda in a pickle!
