hello everyone, I want to make some comments on store speed which may not go down too well.
my store speed is noted on my site as 35. which is utter rubbish. this is based on googles lighthouse analysis made on 4 g mobile phone users and buyers.
All kinds of advice are being given even to me who asked the same speed question. I took in what was advised but went even further and checked my site speed with 7 other speed check sites. I ran these checks on mobile and desktop and here’s the issue. mobile speed checked on 4g is as my admin says. But tests taken on my desktop and laptop show a very different story.
From 7 different locations globally my desktop speed is more than double the mobile speed. on the desktop I average a speed of 89. And this is the point I want to make. Google is basing store speeds on mobile users which is utter rubbish. 80% of all online sales are made from desktops or laptops and most online buyers are in the age group 25 to 70 Fortunately I hold a degree in sales and marketing and who buys from where and how.
when you get a slow speed figure on your admin please google speed checks and run 6 or 7 from a different site and specify mobile or desktop. you will be amazed at the difference. I am not getting at the people offering advice as they are advising on information that is quite often misleading.
