How are you managing "Return to Sender" (RTS) issues? Looking for merchant insights

Hi everyone,

I’m currently developing a Shopify app specifically designed to help merchants mitigate losses from Return to Sender (RTS) situations, especially for markets where Cash on Delivery (COD) is common.

The app currently focuses on:

  1. Real-time Notifications: Instantly alerting merchants when a shipment status changes to RTS-related flags via AfterShip integration.

  2. Blacklist Management: Enabling merchants to flag and track “repeat offenders” or problematic customers to prevent future losses.

As I refine the features, I’d love to hear about your current workflow:

  • How do you currently track or handle packages that are returned to you?

  • Do you maintain a manual list (like Excel) of customers who frequently refuse delivery?

  • What is the most frustrating part of the RTS process for you? (Is it the shipping cost loss, the manual follow-up, or something else?)

I want to build something that truly solves the headache of undeliverable orders. Any feedback or “horror stories” you’re willing to share would be incredibly helpful!

Thanks in advance!
