We’re hoping that there is a Shopify guru here can help us figure out the best way to manage many vendors that each have a range of products.
Have heard that setting up a variety of merchants through a multi vendor app is the way to go, but unsure as to the benefits versus just setting up products with vendor names.
Does anyone have any thoughts on why we would need a multi vendor app to manage our vendors?
I think it can be done manually. An app is not absolutely necessary, however, an app would automate the process and save you time and tedious manual work, and maybe avoid some human error as well.
It also may depend on your current business infrastructure, is there an existing in-house staff that can handle the work or would you have to hire some?
Do you currently list your products manually on your store, or do you use an app to automate the process? If you use an app, you may be able to tweak it so that it lists products with vendor names, that way, you won’t need any additional tools.
Great thanks mate. That is how we’ve have it set up for now. We’re only a small team, but will likely do a bunch of manual entires to start with. Looking at longer term scaling options an app is something we may need to invest in.
@gr_trading We’d like to have an option on the customer facing site that allows us to group products by vendor. A vendor page really, housing their products and information about their brand.
I currently have set up a meta Object for a vendor panel, but haven’t quite figured out to make a template for a Vendor page as described above.
