How can a non-US citizen set up payment methods for a US-based dropshipping store?

Hi there, I am planning to start a dropshipping business selling to the USA using a US Shopify store, without being a citizen there. I’m from Mauritius/Australia.

  1. Can I connect my local bank account to receive the payments?

  2. can I use my local PayPal instead of USA PayPal?

  3. can I set up a Stripe in Australia and use the same account for the US store?

How normally do non-citizens do this to receive their payments?

As for the time being I’m planning to start an LLC but it’s expensive and this might take some time and I do not want to lose on Q4. Please guide me in the right direction. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

While Shopify does allow you to connect a bank account to receive payments, I’m not sure if your local bank account would be compatible with Shopify’s system. You might want to check with your bank or Shopify support to find out more.
