How can customers upload a PDF during checkout on my online eyewear store?

Hi everybody,

I have an online shop in which we sell eyewear and sunglasses. I would have the need to let the customer upload a medical prescription during the checkout so that we can customize the product for them. To do so, i need to give the possibility to the customer to upload a PDF before concluding the order. I have searched and so far haven’t found anything convincing me, some apps offer to upload huge dimension files and cost quite a bit, and that wouldn’t do for me. I have also read this topic, but as the user answers to the shopify guru, it forces users to create an account to be able to upload, i have the checkout process without account and i wouldn’t want the account creation to be mandatory.

Have any of you any idee how i could do this?

Hello Maxime,

You definitely need an app for this. We can help you, but checkout pages are only available for Shopify Plus plans. However you can have a pop-up right when someone presses “Checkout” that prompts for the file. Similar to how our https://shoprestrictions.com app works. You can of course download the PDF and we would create the association based off email address and order #.
