How can distributors add our product range to their site effectively?

Hi there.

We’re looking at getting some distributors for our Shopify Store. What would be the best way for them to bolt on our product range to their site/product offering? Sub domain an option? Would they need their own shopify login and duplicate the store?

If anyone has any experience or advice that would be greatly appreciated,

Hi @maxsafeglobal ,

If you’re looking for people to simply act as affiliates for your brand (promoting your products, but you are still providing the product and shipping) then an affiliate program may be the way to go.

If you want your associates to be actual distributors (with a physical inventory of your products and freedom to sell those products as part of their product line) then they will need their own stores.

Are you looking to create multiple stores yourself to sell your products and have them managed by someone else (so like a franchise)? Or are these pre-existing stores that simply want to sell your products?

Our customer will be buying the products and shipping themselves. But obviously we want to make it as easy as possible for them and their customers!

It would essentially be a copy of our store with their branding. They already have their own online store but it’s not shopify

I’ll be honest, I’m still not entirely sure I’ve understood the context, so I hope this helps.

If your distributors already have their own websites, then they will need to simply list the products on their own stores and then you would need to collect payment from, minus whatever percentage they’re taking.

If you want to have multiple stores selling your products, then you will need to open an account for each store, choose a plan for each store, and build each store to your preferred spec and in line with your brand.

The closest workaround I can think of for this is to create Buy Buttons. Buy Buttons help you add your products to external websites and blog posts. The thing is, that any order on one of your distributor’s sites, through a buy button, would still be processed through your payment gateway.
