How can I achieve a background-image parallax on my Dawn Theme?

Topic summary

Goal: Implement a background-image parallax on the Dawn theme’s home image banner.

Context and definitions:

  • Current state: The requester achieved a “fixed parallax” (background image remains static while content scrolls over it).
  • Desired effect: A “background-image parallax,” where both image and content scroll but at different speeds, creating depth.
  • Reference provided for differences: external link explaining fixed vs parallax backgrounds.

Latest updates:

  • A responder requested the store URL to assess implementation details.
  • The requester shared the store URL (https://spilt-art.myshopify.com/) but noted the fixed parallax exists only in a duplicate theme, so it isn’t visible on the live store.

Outstanding needs and next steps:

  • Access or preview of the duplicate theme (or code snippets/section settings) is needed to diagnose and propose a solution (likely involving CSS transform/translate and/or JS on scroll for differential speeds).
  • No solution or code has been provided yet. Discussion remains open and unresolved.

I have been trying to give my Dawn Theme home image banner a parallax. I have only been able to achieve a “fixed parallax” (where the image will remain static, while the content will move over the image as your scroll down the page) but not a “background-image parallax” (where both the image and the content will move as your scroll down the page but at different speeds) The difference is explained here: https://siteorigin.com/fixed-vs-parallax-background-images/

Can anyone help me to achieve this background-image parallax on my website?

I achieved the static parallax in a duplicate. So you wont see it here.

Thanks,
