Is there an easy way to put a background image on my homepage and on the other pages of my store, without having to use code? Or, is there a newer version (paid) of Shopify that allows for more design functionality & features instead of struggling with what I think is an older version that I have been using off & on over the past couple of years. Thanks for any input or suggestions.

If your theme does not support for that function, you cannot add background image for whole page without code.
What prevent you add the custom code for your store?
Thanks for your reply. Nothing is preventing me…, I just need to learn code. Can you please point me in the right direction as to where I can learn this on Shopify? Oh, and do you think I need to step up to a newer theme that has all of the bells & whistles that’ll make it easier for me to make updates? Thank you again.

To learn Shopify Liquid, have a lot course you can follow.
If you choose the theme, I think you should choose theme have a good support, beside theme function you like, so if have any problem, you can get the support faster, and they can help you asap.
