How can I add a couple of side-by-side buttons to my footer?

I’d like add 2 buttons as seen in the “rich-text” component to the footer of my site. It is proving quite challenging, wondering if anyone else has tried this and could advise on how they achieved it? I am using Dawn 6.0.2
