How can I add a custom color background to all product images in Dawn theme?

Hi,

How do I add background to all product images including thumbnails? I am using Dawn theme. All my product images are in .png format. I want to add custom color to images only leaving the page background intact.

All my images are in .png with transparent background so the white background on “current” is the background color of my pages. I want to add color background to all my products like that grey on the first two t-shirts. I want the color to display everywhere including the product page when I click on a specific product.
