My name is Alisha! I’m very new to all of this. I am trying to open up a store where I hand make everything that I sell. The problem I have run into is that I don’t know how to add something so that the customers can choose the colors and what they want them to say. Maybe there is a button I can add to the product page or a text box that I can add to the cart. It would be really lovely to hear from someone who could possibly help me out!

I use an app for my client called ‘Advanced Product Options’ and it enables many extra variant features for your products, including custom text areas I believe

If you want to add a textbox to the cart to collect extra information, you can use the order notes feature:
- From Online Store > Themes > Customize
- Open the drop-down menu at the top of the page > Cart
- Within sidebar editor > Cart page > Check Enable order notes or Enable cart notes. (If your theme is online 2.0 you’ll want to click on Subtotal > Enable order notes)
Otherwise, you can consider using some third-party apps that will help you to add a text box on the product page.
