How can I add a handling fee to each transaction?

To add a handling fee:

  1. Go to Shopify admin and then navigate to Settings > Shipping and Delivery
  2. Click Manage Rates in the shipping section
  3. Scroll down to a shipping rate, click the three dots then click Edit rate. Or add a click Add Rate.
  4. On the bottom of the edit popup, you will see a handling fee section. You can set it to a percentage or a flat amount

Another option, which might work in your case, is to simply set a flat rate “$2.00” shipping and just rename it to “Shipping and Handling”.
