How can I add a horizontal category list to the Debut theme?

Hi,

I’m trying to make some small changes to the Debut theme.

I would like to add an horizontal category list that looks exactly like the website in the attached link and add it right below the first image on the website- basically the same location (in case the location is relevant here).

Basically I would like to have all of my categories there and in case a person uses a mobile phone then let him/her slide from right to left and view them all.

Hope someone would be able to help me with this one :))
